A family from San Antonio, Texas was deeply devastated when they discovered that their dog, Max, was missing. They did everything that they could to find the pooch, but it seemed that no one had seen him. They distributed flyers and even put up posters everywhere.
As the days passed, it seemed that their pet is never coming home. The dog owners, especially their two young daughters, were deeply saddened by this realization. Both of the little girls would cry themselves to sleep.
What they didn’t know is that after several weeks, they will be shedding tears once again. But this time, it would be from happiness.
Stray
Barely two months after Max went missing, Deputy Perez from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, got a report about a small dog walking around in a nearby neighborhood. The officer responded to the call and went to the area to rescue the pooch.
When he finally saw the stray, he suddenly recognized him. He saw the same dog in a flyer that was posted in their substation. He brought the dog there, and he became sure that it was the same pooch. He quickly contacted the number on the poster and informed the owners that he found their pet.
The family was overjoyed. Deputy Perez then offered to take the dog to their house. When he arrived there, the family was on their porch, all of them eagerly waiting for their pup.
When he got Max out of the car, they started to run towards their pet. The two little girls were leading the way.
They quickly hugged Max and tears started rolling down the cheeks of one of the girls. They were so happy to have their dog back. The deputy was so moved by their reaction, and he took pictures of the moment.
Gone viral
The sheriff’s office posted those pictures, and they instantly became viral. Numerous persons online were touched by the little girl’s emotions, and thousands shared the post. They garnered a lot of positive comments and commended the deputy for a job well done.
