A concerned citizen in Detroit became distraught when he saw a stray dog that was apparently in pain. He had a lot of injuries on his body and was walking slowly with a limp. The kind samaritan quickly called the Michigan Humane Society who then sent rescuers to the location immediately.
The dog, a Rottweiler, had deliberately inflicted wounds. His ears and nose were maimed, and his tail was butchered. The rescuers couldn’t believe that someone could be so cruel and torture a helpless animal. They quickly took him off the streets and went to a vet.
Help from around the world
The dog, who was named Baron, got worldwide sympathy when his story was posted online. The shelter didn’t have the resources to shoulder the costly treatments that the injured pooch required. they appealed to everyone to donate.
Baron’s condition infuriated a lot of people. They condemned the person who did the heartless deed and at the same time sent financial aid. Not only for the dog’s multiple surgeries, but also, for a reward to anyone who could give information that would lead to the rest of the perpetrator.
They were able to raise 40,000 for the reward alone. The authorities are still looking for that person.
A new chapter
Thanks to the generosity of the people, Baron was able to undergo his treatments. His operation was a great success. He had to stay though at the hospital for several weeks to recover. When he was released by the vets, Baron was put up for adoption straight away.
With his new fame, it didn’t take long for Baron to find his forever family. He moved into his forever home right away and was showered with adoration and toys. The shelter made sure that the Rottweiler would end up with a family that would never allow the pooch to experience pain ever again.
