Merlin, a 160-pound Irish Wolfhound, was the victim of a hit-and-run in South Carolina. Zachary Corrado, the dog’s father, pleaded for assistance and remained by his beloved dog’s side.

Drew Kreiling and Sharon Chuduakowski-Kreiling happened to be passing by the area where the dog was struck at the time. The couple made no hesitation in offering assistance to Zachary and the injured Merlin.

Since it is permitted, Zachary frequently lets Merlin walk on the beach without a leash. Since then, the pet owner has faced no problems.

Merlin saw a fox one night and pursued him. Zachary attempted to pacify his dog as a knee-jerk reaction, but Merlin was too quick.

The dog was unaware that a truck was passing by as he attempted to chase the fox. The truck’s driver quickly applied the brakes, but it was too late – Merlin was struck.

Zachary witnessed the tragedy and promptly came to his beloved dog’s rescue. He pleaded for assistance and was fortunate that the couple was nearby.

Due to Merlin’s critical condition, Drew and Sharon quickly took the dog to get help. Despite the fact that they were strangers to the dog and Zachary, Drew and Merlin offered them care. This is because the couple is also dog owners. Thus, they are aware of Zachary’s circumstances at that moment.

Merlin’s life was quickly saved at the hospital by the veterinarians. The dog might not have survived had it not been for the couple’s kindness. Drew and Sharon’s good deed, however, did not end there.

Zachary’s credit card had already been maxed out due to Merlin’s hospital fees. This is why Drew and Merlin organized a Facebook campaign, which gathered sufficient funds to cover Merlin’s medical expenses. With this, Zachary expressed his gratitude to the couple for their care for Merlin.
