The smallest and weakest puppies are usually overpowered by their larger siblings during feeding. Because of this, these puppies have the least chance of reaching adulthood. Without proper intervention, the runts of the litter end up dying because of malnutrition.
A boy In South Africa brought a Pit Bull puppy named Pumpkin to Sidewalk Specials, which is an animal rescue organization and an animal shelter. The boy was concerned about Pumpkin’s health because he was too small and frail that he couldn’t feed. When he was brought to Sidewalk Specials, he was already malnourished and wasn’t doing well. Because of his poor health, the rescue volunteers at the shelter feared that he wouldn’t be able to survive.
However, Sidewalk Specials rescuers were determined to give Pumpkin a fighting chance. The rescuers wanted him to get the life that he deserved and did everything to help Pumpkin become healthy again. After a few days, Sidewalk Specials found a woman named Bianca who volunteered to foster Pumpkin until he finds a new forever home.
Bianca raised Pumpkin and gave him the love and care he needed. After a while, Pumpkin became confident again, which helped him to come out of his shell. After only a few weeks in his foster home, Pumpkin became stronger and healthier. He was more confident and he even won over Bianca’s cat, Maui, who wasn’t really keen on dogs. Seeing Pumpkin snuggling next to Maui assured Bianca that he was going to be fine.
Pumpkin was eventually able to find a new forever home. He’s been adopted by a new family who spoils him with treats and cuddles. He also has a new doggie brother who adores him and quickly became his best friend.
Pumpkin’s new life would not have been possible if it weren’t for Sidewalk Specials and Bianca. Thanks to them, Pumpkin gets to grow up to become a playful and confident dog who brings so much love and happiness to everyone he meets.
