Ethan is a rescue dog that was on the verge of death less than a month ago.

A generous family noticed the hungry dog all alone and fearful in a parking lot. Tatum Henderson was the one who first noticed the puppy and promptly notified his parents, Shawn and David.

The Henderson family was at a loss as to what to do with Ethan at the moment, and so they contacted the Kentucky Humane Society. The shelter’s volunteers quickly arrived at the parking lot and rescued the dog. But they were doubtful whether Ethan would survive, given his precarious state.

Despite their initial reservations, the volunteers made every effort to provide the puppy with the medical attention he required. Ethan was barely about 38 pounds when he arrived at the shelter. This was significantly less than his typical weight for his age. With this, the volunteers worked tirelessly to address the dog’s health issue.

Ethan quickly gained 80 pounds, doubling more than his initial weight. This progress made the volunteers quite delighted, as it demonstrated that their efforts had paid off.

Throughout the dog’s recovery, the Hendersons maintained contact with the volunteers to inquire about Ethan’s progress. The Hendersons, particularly Tatum, became more concerned about Ethan’s health.

However, when the Hendersons learned that the dog was making progress, they felt comforted. Due to the fact that Ethan’s recovery happened on Tatum’s 12th birthday, the volunteers decided to provide the child with a birthday gift from the dog.

During the boy’s celebration, volunteers presented him with a customized “Team Ethan” shirt to remind him that he was Ethan’s hero.

Tatum was overjoyed to get the birthday present because it was from Ethan. Tatum’s parents expressed their pride in their son for already knowing how to care for animals at such a young age.
