Stacey is a dog rescue volunteer who lives in Mississippi. As a retiree, she spends most of her days caring for her grandchildren when they visit. At other times, she directs her efforts to help animals in need. She frequently visits shelters and would even foster dogs that are in dire situations.
One day, while walking in the woods near her property, she came across a pitiful dog. She was chained up to a tree, and it seemed she had gone through a terrible life.
The pit bull had thick cataracts, and her bones were sticking out of her skin. The look on her face echoed her sadness. The pooch must have been waiting for help for a long time and she was lucky a woman like Stacey found her.
Medical foster
Using her experience as a rescuer, Stacey guided the dog out of the woods using food. The dog was so hungry she followed the human willingly. As soon as the kind woman got the canine’s trust, she took her to a vet.
Despite being neglected her whole life, the dog was fortunate not to have significant health issues. But she still had multiple problems, and without any proper medical care, there was a good chance she would not survive. Stacey knew it would take some time before the dog, which she named Halo, could get back in good shape. So she decided to foster the canine and provide her with the help she desperately needed.

After three months, Halo was in the best condition of her life. Stacey made sure that the dog got all the medication and nutrients that she needed.
Best of all, her character changed a lot. Gone were her sad days. She was happy and active and showed her gratitude daily by being affectionate with her foster mom.
As much as Stacey loved Halo, she knew she couldn’t keep her. So she got in touch with several rescue groups to help find the dog a good home. An animal charity organization from Connecticut responded and took Halo in.
The dog was brought to another foster volunteer while they searched for a loving family for her. And this time, Halo will go to a home that will never neglect her.
