Who would have expected that a baseball team would have a furry critter as its member? That’s possible! Just take a look at the Seattle Mariners. The said Major League Baseball (MLB) team announced that it just welcomed Tucker, a Labrador Retriever mix, to its team.

Read on to take a peek at this cute pup’s life with the batters.

Welcome to the Seattle Mariners, Tucker!

Tucker was adopted from OkanDogs, an animal rescue center located in Cashmere, Washington. Scott Servais, the manager for the Mariners, said that the pooch would be a great addition to the clubhouse.

Tucker will appear regularly at T-Mobile Park, the Mariners’ home. He is likely to travel for seasonal road games.  Moreover, he is expected to be out in the field, running around and playing with the players.

Servais says that the team chose Tucker after a rigorous scouting process. He adds that the dog went high in the team’s draft.

Apparently, the Mariners manager and his wife Jill previously worked as volunteers for OkanDogs. Servais hopes that Tucker would put a spotlight on dog adoption and rescue.

Finally, Servais puts in a good word for Tucker. He says that the players are excited about him. After all, it’s Tucker’s job to provide the team with a nice little distraction.

The pup took Twitter by storm

While Tucker is already popular among the batters of the Mariners team, he has also amassed a large number of followers on Twitter. On his profile on the said platform, he is described as someone who enjoys his own unlimited supply of baseballs.

One of Tucker’s pictures on his Twitter profile has received more than 26K likes, over 2K retweets, and 757 quote tweets. A lot of netizens have nothing but praises and good words for the pup. One says that the dog’s membership to the Mariners is precious. Another says that she is already in love with Tucker and can’t wait to follow all his adventures.
