Dognapping counts as one of the worst possible animal crimes, second to animal cruelty. This time around, a dognapping has been caught on tape in Texas. A thief reaches down the property fence grabbing a young mastiff bulldog by the collar. He then proceeds to walk towards a car and drive away.

The adult mastiff can be seen furiously barking as he sees the puppy being taken away. The owner of the stolen pup is a Dallas firefighter named Matt Ivy who happens to be a mastiff breeder as well. Matt panicked when he couldn’t find the puppy in the yard.

When he decided to check the security camera, he saw it what had transpired. He was furious. Any dog owner would be angry at the sight of their dog being stolen from them.

The property is located in Mesquite Texas. A place considered to be relatively rural. The location conditions made the thieves think they can get away unnoticed, but they never considered the possibility of a security camera. The camera caught everything.

After the theft, Chipper the puppy was taken to auto-shop called Omar’s wheels and tires. Chipper was sold for three hundred dollars. The going price for a mastiff is actually three thousand dollars. That’s how they were able to sell the puppy easily.

This story doesn’t end badly. Chipper is back where he belongs. The mechanic who purchased the puppy called Matt. The mechanic suspected he bought a stolen puppy and both of them arranged to meet. Chipper is now back to his rightful owner, and everyone is happy again. We can see the puppy resting on Matt’s arms sleeping like a little angel. Chipper must have gone through a great ordeal.

We’re not sure what happened to the thieves. However, since the security camera captures their vehicle and what they look like. It’s only just a matter of time before they are punished.
